ALLEN RAPAPORT -

Councilman Rapaport is a 33 year resident of the Borough of Norwood.  He resides with his wife Jodi and dog Sammie.  Councilman Rapaport is presently serving his third term on the Norwood Council.  Councilman Rapaport is  Police Commissioner as well as Chair of the Personnel Committee, Co-Chair of the Livingston Street Beautification Committee and a member of the Finance Committee.  The focus of the Beautification Committee is centered on moving the Borough Clock to its new location next to Norwood Self Storage.  The Clock will be the center of the downtown area and enclosed with plantings and benches.  This should be completed by summer 2012 along with decorative lighting and new sidewalks.  As Police Commissioner, Mr. Rapaport has been involved in the hiring process for two new Norwood Police Officers, Brian Bourke and Michael Getto.  Mr. Rapaport also serves on the Bergen County Open Space Trust Committee, the New Jersey League of Municipalities Representative and is co-chair of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #46 advisory board and an Honored Citizen of the NJ Honor Legion and Director of the Tri-State Law enforcement Foundation.
